Hi kipper!
Thanks for your offer, but I was in the town a day before (sightseeing Tour) ... Nice to meet and talk to you ... next time I hope for a longer time!
To the concert: I think, the location was a (bad) joke, not the same perfect area like last year in Ronnie Scotts ...
For the German Fans a big suprise ... Colin told something about concerts in Germany in the future after releasing the new album!
My flight goes in 3 hours from Gatwick back to Germany, at home I will posting more impressions ...

Mmmmm have to say the venue was terrible, two x-box game consoles playing non stop continuous games which flashed like a strob light in the corner of your eye.
A bar that sold ice with a drop of coke and the only snacks on hand were small tubs of pringles.
Arrived early to get a seat (one of just a few that was available in the whole venue) only to have some prats standing right in front of me during Colins slot.
BUT saying that Colins voice just gets better and better as time goes on :) .
Please Ronnie Scotts next time Colin. Least they sold more food and u had a seat with view!!

Had a great time at the concert. It had been a few years since I'd made it to a gig, so there was quite a lot of material new to me in the set.
Opened with Listen, then a string of new ones (including Cold Chicken Skin from the EP which was fantastic). The violin and backing vocals brought a lot of texture to Sweetest Smile and WL. He ended Sweetest Smile by going into a strange Spanish guitar thrash, concluding by saying 'I do like to fuck about, don't I?'
For me the highlights were Feel like Change, Big Girl Now and Water on Snow, because they're some of my favourite Black/Colin songs. But it was all great.
The venue was fine. It was pretty full and the crowd was appreciative, especially of material from the first three Black albums (and IIRC especially for the non-single tracks). I think the audience had been spoilt before with seats in venues. Most acts perform in standing venues, and this is a standing venue that they had laid a few seats out in. There were some people there with unreasonable expectations of what view they should get from the seats, sat halfway back in the venue and asking people to move who had an equal right to a decent view. One person I saw shooing away Colin's wife and son, which I doubt they would have done if they'd been a bit more clued-up. It was all pretty good natured, but I did wonder what the last gig was that some of the audience went to. They didn't look like they had been to a standing gig (or danced at a gig) for a while.
