Ronnie's on Sunday 4 Years, 7 Months ago
Was amongst the crowd at a pretty packed Ronnie Scott's last night. A nice venue which seems ideal for CV's style of music and banter.

Once the support was out the way (sorry, but I didn't like it one bit!) it wasn't long before an all-in-black CV walked onto the stage, awaited by his band (drums and bass/cello). CV didn't look too happy - infact, downright pissed off. Perhaps he was just psyched up for the gig...

Opening was "Everything's coming..." followed by many of the songs previously mentioned on earlier gigs in this tour. The second half was much better from where I sat - the use of cello is inspired and adds a hell of a lot to the songs. Highlights were "Alive", "Water on Snow", "Wonderful Life"... most of it, actually.

The response from the crowd was fantastic - people on feet and shouting at the end. A couple of people there looked as though they were record company execs... Perhaps they've realised what a talent CV is. But CV's comment between songs that the music industry "is scum" was most amusing!

Bought a copy of "Live at the Bassline" afterwards. The Blackleg CD costs £7 and there's also a tour T-shirt for £10.

Looking forward to the new album.
