New Black Live!

Written by Patric. Posted in Live

"For your visual and aural delight we have now posted up a clip of three of the songs from the October gigs at The Aquarium. This should be a good reminder for all those who were there on the night and to act as a promotional trailer for Black Live. If anyone has the time, it would be great if you could re-post the video on your Facebook walls, or if you have a YouTube account, logging in and clicking the thumbs Up (if you like it). Comments are also welcome on the video. These sorts of things all help to spread the word and get the video to people who haven't had the chance to hear the music before."

Live in Manchester 2004

Written by Patric. Posted in Live

"Colin Vearncombe / Black - Was recorded live at the Manchester Academy 3 on the 22nd of May 2004 a great show, We planned to release the full show as a DVD very much like the "Blackbury" DVD but unfortunately the sound engineer screwed up the soundboard recording so we only had an audience back-up to work with which we felt was not good enough."

Colin gives us water on stone

Written by Patric. Posted in Reviews

"Following the successful world premiere of 'Water On Stone' at the Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival at the end of May, we have decided to make two 'optimised' versions of the film available free of charge for a limited period exclusively through colinvearncombe.com

Regular visitors to the site will remember that we had a limited-period free download of 'The Given' last year.  We offered those loyal supporters who wanted to 'give back', a donation facility and we were very happy with the response so we're doing it again with this release.

We hope you enjoy the film and would mention that the 'pre-release' 2-CD version of the album is nearly sold-old and will not be made available again in that format.  All the album tracks are now available for download through iTunes and CDBaby click here for details."

I will not be pompous enough to think that I should give a review of this artwork.... I can only tell you what I felt.

Great News from the Blacklist!

The new 16-track compilation album is available to download now from our online store

The download is available in a range of user-selectable audio file formats (for the audiophiles out there) and is bundled with a 21 page pdf booklet of liner notes, photographs, artwork and lyrics.  We are planning to make physical formats available at a later date, but for now the download is the only option available.

Going for a Song

The cost for the 16 track album is £7.50. However during the launch phase you can, if you have the right discount code, download it for the price of a song. Check out our  YouTube channel , our Facebook Page and CV's twitter feed or search the net for an applicable code. Once you have found one (be aware that most codes will be time-limited) click BUY NOW on the store page, select Have a Discount Code?, enter the code into the box, hit apply and the system will re-calculate the price.

Spreading the Word

We've lost track of how many times people have asked; 'Why isn't Black better known?' but in this internet-enabled age we rely on you, the fans, to help spread the word so we've come up with a way to encourage and reward that process. If you want to help, please apply for your own unique discount code (see below) then pass it on to your family, friends and followers - as far and wide as you want - your code will enable anyone to download the full album for the price of a song. We'll track how many times the codes are used and, at the end of every month, we'll send a unique gift to the fan whose code has produced the most downloads during the month.

September's gift will be a hand-printed, signed copy of the 21 page artwork along with a hand-written lyric sheet of the winner's choice - all signed by Colin along with a personalised web-cam-style message from him on disk.

If you want to take part in our 'going for a song' promotion, send us an email to get your personalised code.

"Many thanks to all who took part in our polling to choose the tracks - the top 15 as voted by the Black community are listed below and these, combined with a special re-mix which is currently in progress, will form the album titled:

Any Colour You Like

The title suggestion came from deep within the Nero Schwarz camp; we think it suits the album well and it should be available around the start of July.
The running order has yet to be decided but the 15 tracks are:
1.  Wonderful Life (re-record)
2.  Sweetest Smile (2011 re-record)
3.  Water On Snow (Live at The Aquarium)
4.  Fly Up To The Moon (Abbey Road Live)
5.  Let Me Watch You Make Love (Abbey Road Live)
6.  Too Many Times (Live at The Bassline)
7.  Swingtime (Are We Having Fun Yet?)
8.  Ave Lolita (Are We Having Fun Yet?)
9.  The Way She Was Before (The Accused)
10.  Better Letting Go (The Accused)
11. Two Churches (Between Two Churches)
12. Stormy Waters (Water On Stone)
13. Her Coat and No Knickers (Between Two Churches)
14. Sleeper (The Accused)
15. Where The River Bends (Between Two Churches)
